We never learn...and somethings never change

I think the current air of uncertainty, makes one thing in this country absolutely clear to me. Our generation has grown soft. We accept anything that we are told to believe, with almost blind passion. There is no safe ground, no pulpit that stands un-tainted, we all sing for the same choir, if only in a different key.
We assume that the men we elect to run this country are in charge... Regardless, of whether our guy won or not. I would encourage everyone in our age group to vote with their feet, but I don't think the backbone is there for a true call to order. The system will stay unchanged, unchallenged, and most of us will just sit home watching it on TV and bitch. Both sides of every issue would simply stay where they are, complacent in the fact that "I am right, and there is no need to justify myself to anyone".
Maybe in the future literacy will come in a pill; but until then, it is imperative to understand the logic behind the government that, we the people have invested our faith in... Ours is a government of people’s liberty and that liberty dictates that to live a free life we must embrace things that we often disagree with, such as gay marriage or opposing faiths (even atheism). Until we can realize that the diversity of our nation makes it the greatest in the world, we face the gentle downward path that every empire before ours has so perilously trodden...

You go girl!

Such wise words for a person of your age. I suppose I had feelings like yours 30 years ago, but it's taken me that long to even scratch the surface of the truth in the face of a lifetime of conditioning by just what you are talking about. I am only glad and grateful that I've gotten to this point at all.

It's interesting that I clicked 'Next Blog' twice and found another site with the word Epiphany in it. Mine is called Epiphany Services. It's the epitomy of my life to date: serving others to help them see the light. Try going back 2 sites from your own and see if you find mine (I don't know how they sort them).

I would be interested in any more observations you have about the world.

Regards,
Peter Anton
