family

It's been a while since I last posted, in essence this is because my lifee has been rather un-notable... This is all about to change (at least for the time being). My family is in town, so you can see that the next few days will be interesting to say the least. There will be food and fighting, perhaps even both at the same time. OK. I was just kidding about that part, but it will be a small miracle to get through the holiday without at least one minor squable. You should expect to hear a story or two once the feasting has finished... Until then happy holidays to you all.

Beautiful

Today I was called beautiful. I don't know how to handle this, I must say it is the nicest thing anyone has said to me in a long time. I just felt like sharing this...

We never learn...and somethings never change

I think the current air of uncertainty, makes one thing in this country absolutely clear to me. Our generation has grown soft. We accept anything that we are told to believe, with almost blind passion. There is no safe ground, no pulpit that stands un-tainted, we all sing for the same choir, if only in a different key.
We assume that the men we elect to run this country are in charge... Regardless, of whether our guy won or not. I would encourage everyone in our age group to vote with their feet, but I don't think the backbone is there for a true call to order. The system will stay unchanged, unchallenged, and most of us will just sit home watching it on TV and bitch. Both sides of every issue would simply stay where they are, complacent in the fact that "I am right, and there is no need to justify myself to anyone".
Maybe in the future literacy will come in a pill; but until then, it is imperative to understand the logic behind the government that, we the people have invested our faith in... Ours is a government of people’s liberty and that liberty dictates that to live a free life we must embrace things that we often disagree with, such as gay marriage or opposing faiths (even atheism). Until we can realize that the diversity of our nation makes it the greatest in the world, we face the gentle downward path that every empire before ours has so perilously trodden...
